This last weekend was full of campfires, grilling, hiking, and maybe a little beer drinking too! We took off Friday and met Matt and Jessica at Petit Jean for a three day weekend. We set up camp Friday around 2:00 and chillaxed by the campfire all night long.
We slept in Saturday morning and then went on a couple of trails. The fall colors and fresh air were a warm welcome this girl, who has seen nothing but brown leaves and the inside of a classroom lately.
The trail ended at this beautiful open area, for lack of the geological term, with a waterfall.
We stayed pretty warm between the campfire and space heater we kept in the tent. In fact, it was pretty hard to leave our temporary home and get back to reality. Although we do smell better. :)
